Last fall, I remember pacing in the Midland Medical Center lobby while my child was held down by four nurses and one nervous phlebotomist.

From the screams and thrashing, you’d think that he was being slowly tortured, when in fact it was just a routine test. A simple blood draw. In an ordinary town. On a normal day.
