LoJack SafetyNet is Giving Away 1,500 Tracking Devices for Anyone with Autism, Alzheimer’s and Other Similar Conditions!
As part of LoJack’s 25th anniversary celebration, we are pleased to announce that we are giving away 1,500 SafetyNet tracking devices. We’re calling the initiative “SafetyNet Race to Keep Safe” and it’s valid while supplies last—hence the “race” to keep safe those in danger of wandering. “SafetyNet Race to Keep Safe” includes a SafetyNet Bracelet, batteries and straps along with instructions and information on the SafetyNet Service, all shipped at no cost. The enrollment and monthly fees are waived, allowing caregivers and families to experience the service without any financial commitment for a full six months.

As you know, caring for a loved one who could potentially wander at any moment carries a considerable responsibility, and nothing could be more frightening than the thought of them wandering and becoming lost.
Our proven SafetyNet technology can help public safety agencies quickly find and bring loved ones home, providing an additional layer of protection and peace of mind to keep loved ones safe.
Should a loved one go missing, a caregiver would simply call their local public safety agency. Participating SafetyNet public safety agencies are all trained and certified on electronic search and rescue procedures. They would use our SafetyNet tracking equipment to locate and follow the Radio Frequency signal being emitted from the SafetyNet Bracelet on your loved one’s wrist or ankle.
You can find full details on the giveaway and SafetyNet’s availability on: http://bit.ly/LoJackSafetyNet
*This offer only valid in the LoJack SafetyNet service area.

Philadelphia International Auto Show Black Tie Tailgate to benefit Center for Autism Research at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Philadelphia International Auto Show
There’s a big autism research fundraiser in Philadelphia tonight – The Black Tie Tailgate at the Philadelphia International Auto Show.
For its 2011 Black Tie Tailgate, the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation has named the Center for Autism Research (CAR) at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as the event’s beneficiary. CAR is one of the largest and most comprehensive autism research centers in the world. Its goals are to identify the causes of autism spectrum disorders and develop effective treatments.
Since its establishment in 2008, CAR has had multiple breakthrough discoveries in genetics and brain imaging, culminating in over 50 published scientific papers on autism. CAR also conducts innovative treatment research, including the largest autism intervention research study ever conducted for children with autism spectrum disorders, and is also involved in community outreach and training programs designed to educate families and professionals about autism screening, diagnosis and treatment.
Chances are you know of someone living with autism as recent studies show that one in 110 children in the United States have an autism spectrum disorder. Please consider attending the 2011 Black Tie Tailgate to show your support of these possible family members, friends or neighbors as well as others who are working hard to develop impactful treatments.

Play deals with challenges of autism
Main Line Media News
“Love and Communication,” a new play about a family dealing with a child’s autism diagnosis will get a staged reading in Philadelphia after winning a national competition. One of playwright James Christy Jr.’s three children is autistic.
This Saturday afternoon, a new play by Main Line native James Christy Jr. will receive a staged reading in Center City.
“Love and Communication” has an ambitious theme: it focuses on the struggles of a husband and wife after their son is diagnosed with autism.
Christy, who now lives in Princeton, is one of the six winners of the annual competition sponsored by PlayPenn, an organization for new play development. Each year, PlayPenn holds a national competition to select the most promising works in progress.
The playwrights are then given the unusual opportunity for two weeks of intensive work on their plays, culminating in a staged reading.
The theme of Christy’s play has deep personal meaning for him. Of his three children, the oldest, Jimmy, who is now 7, was diagnosed with autism at age 3.
